This desert like landscape is much greener than you would expect and you should keep an eye out for sheep, zebra and ostrich. As you get closer to the Kgalagadi you will drive through the rolling red sand dunes and past salt pans until you reach Twee Rivieren Two Rivers which is the entry point to the park.
From Twee Rivieren you will enter the park and drive for approximtely 2 hours to the Kamqua picnic site. Keep an eye out for cheetah, lion and plains game that live in the Park. Xaus Lodge is located in the heart of the Park and is only accessible by passing over 91 red sand dunes. You will spend the next two nights at this camp where you'll go on day and night game drives, bushman walks and visiting bushman villages, as well as star gazing at the incredible night sky. Today you will head back over the 91 dunes to get back into the main area of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
This community run lodge is located in its own private concession within the park on the Botswanan side.
