The booking was confirmed with Johannie by e-mail but when we arrived after a tiring six hour drive, there was no booking on their system. She had even sent us a Google pin to ensure that we arrived 'safe and sound'!

Elouise made up for it with friendly, helpful service and put us up in a chalet as none of the rondavels were available. As we went for breakfast the next morning, we were met by a scowling Johannie who maintained that no booking was made despite my printout. And even AFTER the owner had graciously apologised for the mishap, Johannie still sent another churlish e-mail telling us how lucky we were to have gotten in!!! This is all the more bizarre, because there were no other guests at the lodge. Also as it is off-season, none of the lodges we stayed at required a deposit.
But most importantly of all, even if there had been a misunderstanding, apologise to the client!
So, despite a beautiful venue, Johannie is unfortunately the weakest link. Date of stay: September Rooms. Room Tip: Chalets are better than the rondawels. Will definitely return. The view of the stars at night is truelly something to see. Great lodge area with a view and great fireplace to keep you warm in winter.
